Social & Eco Impact
At Yogahuasca Retreats, we take our commitment to sustainability seriously. Our retreats are not only about providing a transformative experience for our participants, but also about giving back to the local community and the environment. By supporting the Kichwa community in Sacha Wasi, we have been able to build a sustainable infrastructure that benefits both the locals and our guests. We have constructed a school for the children and adults, equipped with laptops, where they can learn English, Kichwa traditions, and other basic subjects. We have also built a dining room for the guests and casitas for their accommodation. The community has become self-sustainable with the addition of a chicken coop and vegetable gardens. With the help of our participants, we have been able to provide the community with internet access, hot water, and washing machines.
We also understand the importance of preserving the natural environment. The Amazon rainforest is not just a beautiful backdrop for our retreats, but a crucial ecosystem that supports the livelihoods of indigenous communities and the global environment. To ensure that future generations can also benefit from the natural healing properties of ayahuasca and chacruna, we replant these plants to restore the natural balance of the environment. Additionally, all ingredients used in our retreat kitchen are sourced sustainably.
At Yogahuasca Retreats, we believe that sustainability is not just about minimizing our impact on the environment, but also about supporting and empowering the local community. By promoting sustainable practices and giving back to the Earth, we aim to create a positive impact on both the people and the planet.
